Tin Men & the Telephone are young progressive Dutch group whose performance at Dutch Jazz World Meeting kicked up a dust and opened them the gates into the music fame. Since the release of their debut Moetjenou?! in 2010 they have been critically acclaimed for originality and creativity of their music.

Although the band is a classic jazz trio – Tony Roe (Piano&Electronics), Pat Cleaver (Double bass), Bobby Petrov (Drums), their music can easily take you into different dimmension. Their inspiration comes from melodies and sounds of our daily lives such as endless call centre dialogs, SatNav sounds, cellphone ring-tones, yelling football fans, traffic noise or animal sounds. The sounds we are used to and normally ignore take important part in the compositions, stretching the improvisation boundaries and showing the communication ability of music itself.

The base of Tin Men & the Telephone music is a mix of classical harmony, contemporary jazz, hip-hop and balkan funk-soul rhythms. During their performances the musicians present a fantastic multimédial work which points out at the way people communicate in this modern world. Their music has been attracting more and more listeners, even those who are not fond of improvisation. Tin Men & the Telephone regularly perform at the prime European music festivals such as North Sea Jazz festival, Oerol and De Parade, Tremplin Jazz d’Avignon (FR), Vortex (UK), Konstanzer Jazzherbst (DE), B-flat (DE), či Music Village (BE).
