Young Jazz is back at Jazz Dock! This time with Nessie from Hradec Králové and Renegatz from Brno.
Renegatz
Renegatz is one of the most interesting discoveries on the young Czech jazz scene. The group was founded in 2021 by musicians Andrej Hrubčo (piano), Andrej Hudec (double bass), and David Kašuba (drums). In 2023, saxophonist Michal Ondřička joined the band, creating a dynamic quartet with a distinctive style. The band combines modern and traditional jazz with elements of funk, folk, and blues to create a lively, rhythmically sophisticated, and authentic sound. In 2024, Renegatz won first place in the “Junior” category at the prestigious Jazzfruit festival—an award that confirms their exceptional talent.
Nessie
Singer-songwriter from Hradec Králové.
The project is implemented with financial support from the City of Prague, with support from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Prague 5 City District, the Czech-German Future Fund and OSA. The official hotel of the festival is Ibis Praha Wenceslas Square.
